Who am I

love is the key that opens the gates…

I am blessed to have many talents…perhaps that is what makes a teacher…multi-talented. For I do love to teach, to share, to create a safe forum where people can come together to collaborate and expand…even if that expansion includes contraction. Continue reading “Who am I”

Thank you Always to my incredible Sweetheart-Partner, Mr. Wonderful, Charles B. Watson, for all the large and small things that you do to help me have time to do this work.  You are a walking talking example of Love-in-Action.  I love you!

Hello World!

One of the things I wish to give to you when you come to visit here are some thoughts to consider about Art, Life, and Spirit.

To start, I would like to introduce to you a concept that really is not new except by the manner in which I am planning to approach it.

I wish to muse about giving support and care to a loved one from a view point of an artist.

I was given this inspiration by another teacher-presenter-writer, Cheryl Richardson.  Cheryl has several books that are on the market including a New York best-seller, Take Time for Your Life.

In 2009, Hayhouse published a book by Cheryl, The Art of Extreme Self-Care; Transform Your Life One Month at a Time.

This is an excellent book for all people that care for others and may have forgotten that they too need to be cared for by themselves.   Cheryl has a online course based on this book through HayHouse which I can also highly recommend.

It’s through this book and course of Cheryl’s that I began to really consider how what I had been doing all these years while being a supportive daughter to my parents had been a form of Art in Action.  I am calling it the Art of Care.

The Art of Care has method, media, transitions, practice, an audience/viewers as well as the artist(s)/actor(s)/participants.  The Art of Care can elicit all the emotions both for the those in the act of creation as well as the observers.

Caring takes courage for sure, but most of all it takes compassion and love on everyone’s part both the one giving as well as the one receiving.

There are those that may read those words, I have written and say, ” I took care of my uncle Bonzo and I sure as heck did not love him.

My response would be, “So why did you do it?”

As previous stated, the Art of Care is not for the faint of heart.  This is an Art that will test the boundaries, determination, and spirit of anyone involved.

Sometimes though, the reason that the person steps up to create in the media and format of the Art of Care is that they feel they have no other option.

And if this is the case, this is where, I wish to ask you to consider that your reason is compassion.

If you are this person that has stepped forward with your compassionate heart to answer the call of the Art of Care, then I would like to offer you some things that I have learned along the way.  Just thoughts and experiences that I have had while I have been creating in this manner for you to consider.

Some of it will be nuts and bolts sorts of things that involve the medical profession…like ambulances, prescriptions, meals and records.  Some of it will be other people’s stories from what happened during their own art of care adventure.

The other bits and pieces will be as I have already said:  just thoughts and experiences that I have had while being an artist creating with people I care deeply about for you to consider.

Until we visit again,

May you be Blessed,

Lynday ❤
